Helpful Products for Commuting ABA Professionals

Being an in-home BCBA means practically living in your car. Because we cannot always stop between sessions, our cars become more than transportation; they're mobile headquarters. So, here are a few of my favorite items for a BCBA on the go.

Puzzle Rack

I was tired of my puzzles sloshing around in my trunk. Once I purchased this puzzle rack, my puzzles stayed organized. I never had an issue with this rack falling over in the back of my car.

Car Organizer

Car organizers are a great way to keep items both organized and within reach while driving. I especially liked how I could keep multiple drinks (water, coffee, protein shake, diet soda, etc.) from spilling.

Locked Bag/Organizer

HIPAA still applies while on the go. Be sure that any forms with client information are locked up.

Long charging cord

Between using navigation apps, streaming music, and searching the web, my phone was always dying when I’m on the road. This extra-long charger was always there for me when I was a in-home BCBA.

Lens Wipes

My glasses always got super smudged after every single session. These lens wipes did the trick and never dried out inside a sealed package.

Silicone Straws

I buy iced coffee more often that I’d like to admit. We all know paper straws suck (lol…no pun intended) but these straws are a great alternative AND they’re safe while driving.

Car Trash Can

When working on a tight schedule, I often had to eat in my car in-between sessions, which created a lot of trash. Having a trash can in the car helped prevent messes and make the clean-up process easier.

Sterilite Storage Boxes

I store everything in these: rubber ducks, sand, books, cars, dinosaurs, beans, etc. Any kind of small item can be kept in these sterilite boxes, which can then be organized in a car trunk. I love them.

Canvas Bag

This is what I bring in to all of my sessions. It usually holds my planner, my notebook, pens, crayons, a bubble wand, an old granola bar and who knows what else. It’s my Mary Poppins bag!

Built Bars

My favorite protein bar by far. Tastes like eating a candy bar.

17g protein, 6g sugar.

Brownie batter and Cookie Dough are my favorite flavors, but there are lots of other flavors to choose from!
